On November 1, 2023, the 5th China-ASEAN Legal Cooperation Forum was held in Chongqing. 

At the sub-forum on Building Legal Service Platform for the “Belt and Road” and Establishing Legal Talent Training Mechanism, the Lawyer Cheng Shoutai, as the keynote speaker, delivered a speech on the topic of “Training Innovative Legal Talents for Foreign Services and Serving the Modernization of Chinese Rule of Law”.

At the forum, the “Legal Service Alliance for New Land-Sea Corridor” was unveiled and established, the “Typical Legal Case Serving the Construction of China-ASEAN Community of Shared Future” was released, the “China-ASEAN (South Asia) Legal Online Classroom” was officially launched, and a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on legal service cooperation and exchange was signed. Tahota Lawyer Firm was elected as the “Typical Case of Serving Legal Construction of China-ASEAN Community of Shared Future” by virtue of “providing special legal services to the acquisition of the asset operation right of the China Southern Power Grid Project in Laos”.

In 2023, the “South Asia and Southeast Asia Legal Service Center” under Tahota International Service Center was unveiled and established, which will further carry out experience exchange, business cooperation, professional research, market development, and brand building across geographical regions, to form a nationwide linkage, provide clients with more complete and comprehensive cross-border services, enhance interaction, and provide young lawyers with more systematic and diversified training and growth opportunities.
